Construction Permits Now Accepted Electronically

New guidance to construction sites during COVID-19

BC Government Update, March 23, 2020 - All members in the construction industry must follow these requirements to ensure the utmost protection of our workers, their families and our communities. All employers and employees must read and abide by these rules because it is only through collective efforts that we can reduce the spread of COVID-19. Read more

The Safety Standards Act of B.C. and electrical bylaws for the City of North Vancouver mandate Electrical Permits whenever electrical work is performed. Examples include:

  • Installation of any new wiring or circuitry
  • Re-arrangement of wiring or circuitry
  • Installation or re-arranging of electrical equipment

Electrical Permits are also required for all energized signs, movie sets and outdoor live performances. To assist you, a list of information handouts and bylaws are available below.
