Creating a framework that empowers communities and strengthens local nonprofits.
Supportive funding is a key City priority that involves providing grants and awards provided to not-for-profit organizations that provide community support or action in areas where the City does not provide direct service.
The City’s financial support to a not-for-profit organization goes a long way. It enables that organization to leverage the City’s funds, along with other funding sources such as grants and donations, and volunteer support, toward providing specialized programs and services that create positive outcomes in the community.
About the Supportive Funding Review
The City is conducting a review of our various supportive funding avenues to create a framework that will ensure:
- funding is directed to priority areas that create positive outcomes in the community;
- transparency around where funding is applied and the direct outcomes achieved by recipients; and
- a more streamlined and efficient process for applicants to apply and the City to administer.
This project is part of an ongoing effort to build relationships with the organizations that provide valuable and critical services in our community.
