In June 2024, the Province of British Columbia issued a Housing Target Order (HTO), which requires the City of North Vancouver to complete 3,320 net new units by June 2029. This target was determined by the Province using a calculation to measure existing unmet housing need and anticipated population growth.
Progress Reports
The City is required to report on progress made and actions taken toward meeting the Provincial targets. These reports are required after six months, one year, and annually thereafter.
The City recorded 547 net new units, putting it within close range of its Year 1 target of 581, with a difference of 34 net new units. This means, the City met 94% of its target.
