We’re working with the other North Shore municipalities and the Province’s CleanBC program to help multi-unit residential buildings in the City – including condos, co-ops and rental apartment buildings – make energy efficiency upgrades to their homes.
About the Program
The Jump on a New Heat Pump program provides technical assistance to support multi-unit residential buildings in the City navigate energy upgrades and retrofits such as switching to a heat pump. Recognizing that navigating the current landscape of available energy efficiency supports and rebates can be complex, the Jump on a New Heat Pump program also helps connects program participants with other available resources, such as the Zero Emissions Innovation Centre (ZEIC)’s Retrofit Accelerator program and CleanBC Better Homes rebates.
This program was developed with financial support from BC Hydro.
What is a Heat Pump?
A heat pump is an efficient heating and cooling system that uses electricity to move heat from one place to another. In the winter, a heat pump captures heat from the outside air and transfers it indoors. In the summer, it operates in reverse and transfers heat from inside your home to outdoors. Why heat pumps are a better way to heat your home? Watch the video.
