Filming at the North Vancouver Cemetery

The City has structured guidelines for filming in the cemetery to allow filming within the old section of North Vancouver Cemetery (NVC), while recognizing the desire of the citizens to enjoy the peace and quiet of the NVC while visiting their loved ones.

All filming must take place within sections 1-62 of the Heritage section of the Cemetery, as shown on the detailed Cemetery Map. All filming is subject to the terms and conditions of the Cemetery Filming Guidelines and the City’s existing Filming Procedures.

Note that normal working hours for cemetery caretakers are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The City requires that a member of the cemetery staff is on set out of hours.

If you wish to have a grave dug, please discuss this with the Film Liaison and/or Cemetery Supervisor. Digging a grave can only be done in limited areas, and will involve City equipment and staff such as a digger/operator and a truck/driver to remove the fill, plus cemetery staff to fill in the grave after the shoot. Should you require more "photogenic" soil, this can be arranged.
