When can I visit the centre?
The new Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre opened to the community on July 25, 2026. The opening celebration began with performances at 10:30 a.m., with the main ceremony starting at 11:30 a.m. Festivities included tours, recreation demonstrations and family-friendly activities will run until 3:00 p.m.

When can I use the facility?
The facility will be open as of Monday, July 27 for tours, drop-ins and ‘try-it’ activities, with regular programming beginning in the fall.
If you’d like to enjoy the fitness centre or gymnasium in late July, washrooms are available for changing. Showers, gendered and universal change rooms are expected to be completed in August. Stay tuned for updates at: hjcrc.ca/Construction
Registration for fall programs starts August 12 with programs viewable in NVRC’s registration system on July 30.
When can I use the aquatics centre?
While most of the Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre will be open during the opening celebration event, the aquatics centre (pools, sauna, steam room, showers, change rooms) is going through final checks, testing, staff training and health authority approvals. The opening date for the aquatic facilities will be announced once all required approvals have been received.
The aquatics facility is expected to ready for programming and lessons this fall.
