Volunteering on a Committee is a great way to get involved, provide input on important issues, and make a positive contribution to the community. The City welcomes applications from all City residents interested in volunteering their time and sharing their expertise and lived experiences. Current Vacancies

The Advisory Committee recruitment process typically happens in the fall of each year. During an election year, the timing may vary. If you are interested in serving on an Advisory Committee, please reach out to Legislative Services by email (committees@cnv.org) or by phone (604-982-3973) for additional information.

 

Application Criteria

  • Applicants must be residents of the City of North Vancouver. 
  • Applicants must not be employees of the City of North Vancouver. 
  • Applicants should be available to attend the Advisory Committee meetings and able to serve for the full term of the appointment. 

Time Commitment

Time requirements vary among Advisory Committees, with most meeting in the evening 2-3 hours once per month. Generally, there are no meetings in July, August or December.

Compensation

As these are volunteer positions, Advisory Committee members serve without remuneration.

Selection Process

All appointments are made in closed meetings by City Council usually from November to January. In an election year, the timing may vary. Appointment terms vary based on the Committee's Terms of Reference. You may only be appointed to one Advisory Committee at a time, except for rare circumstances granted by Council. All applicants will receive a letter from Legislative Services once the appointments have been made.
