Volunteering on a Committee is a great way to get involved, provide input on important issues, and make a positive contribution to the community. The City welcomes applications from all City residents interested in volunteering their time and sharing their expertise and lived experiences. We are seeking a broad cross-section of applicants that reflect the City’s rich diversity. Apply to volunteer today!

Application Criteria

  • Applicants must be residents of the City of North Vancouver. 
  • Applicants must not be employees of the City of North Vancouver. 
  • Applicants should be available to attend the Advisory Committee meetings and able to serve for the full term of the appointment. 

Time Commitment

Time requirements vary among Advisory Committees, with most meeting in the evening 2-3 hours once per month. Generally, there are no meetings in July, August or December.

Compensation

As these are volunteer positions, Advisory Committee members serve without remuneration.

Selection Process

All appointments are made in closed meetings by City Council from the end of November through to January. Appointment terms vary in accordance with the relevant Terms of Reference. You may only be appointed to one Advisory Committee at a time, except for rare exceptions granted by Council. All applicants will receive a letter from Legislative Services once the appointments have been made.
