The Shipyards is easy to get to! We’re anticipating that some days will be very busy so we encourage you to walk, roll, or take transit if you are able to.
Walk to The Shipyards along the Spirit Trail (a multi-use pathway extending East and West across the North Shore) or through beautiful Lower Lonsdale, which are both very pedestrian-friendly.
Bike along the Spirit Trail. This path is part of a network of bike lanes in the City. See the North Shore Bike map for more information. Bike parking is available throughout The Shipyards with many racks at Lonsdale Quay, including free, secure, app-activated racks. See the Transportation Access map for bike parking locations.
Evolve e-bike share is available for visitors who don’t have a bike or prefer not to ride their own. Evolve E-bikes are available across the North Shore, with many parking zones in the Shipyards and Lower Lonsdale. Get 10 mins of free ride time when starting or ending your trip at Park Royal, Lonsdale Quay, or Phibbs Exchange!
Transit for the duration of the World Cup will include additional scheduled sailings to the Lonsdale Quay transit hub, which is just a 5-minute walk from The Shipyards. If you are coming from downtown Vancouver or the SkyTrain, catch the SeaBus at Waterfront Station. The SeaBus crossing takes just 12 minutes and runs every 15 minutes throughout the day, and every 10 minutes before and after matches at BC Place. Take one of several buses in the region that connect to Lonsdale Quay or Lower Lonsdale. For more information on transit during the World Cup, see TransLink’s Rider Guide.
Drive and use one of the parkade and street parking options throughout Lower Lonsdale. For more information on parking, visit our Pay Parking webpage. If you are picking up or dropping off passengers, please do so at the designated loading zones on the Transportation Access map. To support the flow of traffic and access for Shipyards residents and businesses, Victory Ship Way will be one-way (westbound) for the duration of the event (June 11-July 19).
On peak days there will be limited road closures south of Esplanade St on Lonsdale Ave and Carrie Cates Court for safety. These closures will be announced closer to the specific dates.
With Uber Eats Canada Soccer House North Vancouver located at The Shipyards this June and July, some annual events that previously took place in the area have made updates this summer to accommodate the World Cup festivities.
The Shipyards Splash Park is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., but is scheduled to be temporarily closed from June 11 until after after the World Cup tournament.
The Shipyards’ Night Market is temporarily located on the block of East 1st Street between Lonsdale Ave and St Georges Ave on the following dates: June 12, 19 and 26, and July 3, 10 and 17. Bike Valet will be available on East 1st Street during these evenings. After these dates the market will return to The Shipyards.
The North Shore Jazz Festival, on June 28, has been relocated to Waterfront Park for 2026. The stage will be placed on the south side of the park which will give attendees a spectacular view of the performance from their picnic blanket, with a backdrop of the Burrard Inlet and downtown Vancouver.
Canada Day with the Rotary Club of Lions Gate, on July 1, is a celebration is located at The Shipyards at Cates Deck, on Carrie Cates Court, and in the Foot of Lonsdale Plaza. Uber Eats Canada Soccer House North Vancouver is also happening that day, please be prepared for increased crowds and traffic.
Lower Lonsdale Block Party, on June 27, will take place on East 1st Street from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. East 1st Street will be packed with activities and festivities, featuring the TransLink Car Free Days of Summer, on-street activations from local businesses, a Brewery District Beer Garden, tons of food options and street-games, along with even more live musical performances. Presented by the Lower Lonsdale BIA.
