Student Filmmakers will be guided through the complete filmmaking process, from scripting to directing, from lighting to editing. The Cinelab will provide an inclusive, welcoming, and creative space with professional equipment and experienced artists to facilitate the program. Established professionals from the Vancouver creative scene will deliver masterclasses.

The program is offered twice in the summer. with 16 youth per session:

  • Program 1: July 4-15, 2022
  • Program 2: July 18-29, 2022

The application deadline is June 30, 2022 or until the programs are full (note that they typically sell out). If no spaces are available you can be added to the waitlist.

Bursary Applications

Applications for the 2022 bursary are now available. Please email for details.

Bursaries for the Cinelab Summer School are available for students who live, work, or study in the City of North Vancouver.

The City’s 'Youth in Film' bursary is funded by contributions from many productions that film TV shows, movies and commercials in the City. Nearly every production that films in the City of North Vancouver donates a bursary, so that selected City high school students can take this course for FREE. We are grateful.
