Rivers Day

2023 Rivers Day

We're excited to celebrate Rivers Day 2023 with an invasive pull, a planting and laying mulch. We'll also have activities like bird and bat house decorating, or you can bring your bike to the free bike repair café. Support your local environment and learn something new at the community partner booths!

Rivers Day | Sunday, September 24, 10am-2pm, Lower Heywood Park | Register for this event

Every year on the fourth Sunday of September, the City celebrates Rivers Day by bringing together community members and organizations to raise awareness about our local streams and habitat.

About Rivers Day

BC Rivers Day began in 1980 and has grown exponentially since then. In 2005, Rivers Day was recognized by the United Nations and became World Rivers Day, a celebration of the world's waterways. It's now celebrated by millions of people from communities around the world.

Come out, meet your neighbours, participate in a wide variety of activities and celebrate our urban creeks!
