The nomination period for Mayor, Councillor and School Trustee in the City of North Vancouver 2026 General Local Election runs from Tuesday, Sept. 1 to Friday, Sept. 11, 2026.
Anyone interested in running must submit all completed nomination papers during this period.
Candidate nomination packages
Candidate nomination packages include the official forms and information required to run for office in the 2026 General Local Election.
Packages can be downloaded at cnv.org/Candidates or picked up in-person at City Hall, 141 West 14th Street.
Completed nomination papers must be submitted no later than Friday, September 11, at 4:00 p.m. by:
- In person: At City Hall (by Sept. 11 at 4:00 PM, excluding weekends and statutory holidays)
- Mail (141 West 14th Street, North Vancouver, BC V7M 1H9)
- Fax (604-990-4202)

Eligibility
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected and hold office for local government if they meet all of the following criteria:
- A resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
- 18 years or older on General Voting Day, October 17, 2026;
- A Canadian citizen; and
- Not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office, or otherwise disqualified by law.
Candidates must also be nominated by at least two qualified City of North Vancouver electors.
