Pride Week Re-imagined

July 24, 2020

We’re going to celebrate Pride Week in the City a little differently this year. Next week’s 2020 Pride Week runs from July 27 – August 3. North Shore Pride Alliance is presenting a ‘re-imagined’ celebration throughout the week including a live-stream event on Tuesday, 7-9pm. Mayor Buchanan has officially declared next week Pride Week in the City, and we’ll be lighting up City Hall with Pride colours and celebrating the raising of the Pride Flag in Civic Plaza on Monday at noon. Join us in celebrating our diverse and inclusive community.

Painting the Town Rainbow

Our Studio in the City youth have been giving our new outdoor patio planters a few coats of Pride paint. You’ll see them on Lonsdale, and check out the North Shore Pride Alliance's window mural at the corner of 14th and Lonsdale.

And, there’ll be a Pride Art Walk at the Pipe Shop at the City’s Shipyards next week.

Pride at the Library

Our City Library is celebrating Pride Week by bringing out their book bike, Spokes n' Words, and sharing LGBTQ2+ literature outside the library in Civic Plaza on July 30 12-2pm.
