Sam Walker Park

Sam Walker ParkSam Walker Park, sometimes referred to as Walker Triangle, is a small triangular park located between East 8th and East 9th at St Andrew's Avenue.

Although the Park name was first suggested in 1962 in an effort to recognize and preserve the early pioneer history of the City of North Vancouver, it did not become official until 1974 when Samuel H Walker agreed to have the park named after him. The park has provided a passive green space for the neighbourhood to play, picnic, and overlook the harbour.

In 2013 a neighbourhood petition was presented to Council requesting that a putting green be installed in the park. Funding for the improvements was approved and the City has designed and installed an artificial turf multi-use space that can be used as a putting green, a yoga or exercise area, or simply a green space to enjoy. Other improvements include new seating, a trash receptacle, bike rack and a water fountain.

Construction began in early Spring and was completed in early Summer, 2016.
