Chief Dan George Park

This small neighbourhood park is located on East 5th between Moody and Queensbury Avenues.  This park was named in 1974 after Tseleil-Waututh Chief Dan George.  cecəwánəxʷ was a First Nations Leader, poet, Indigenous peoples advocate, musician, Academy award winning actor, and an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Upgrades to this park were completed in May 2017.  The scope of work included a new climber, swings, sand and water play area, and new site furnishings. At the park entrance stands a poem wall which features the poem “My Heart Soars” written by Chief Dan George.
