The Shipyards

Shipyard Commons is in the heart of The Shipyards – the City’s dynamic public space which is quickly becoming favourite destination in the Lower Mainland. The Shipyards first opened as Wallace Shipyards in 1906 and grew into one of the most impressive industrial operations in western Canada before closing its doors in 1992. Over its many years of operation, The Shipyards have become a defining aspect of the City's identity. Today, The Shipyards are recognized as a Primary Heritage Site in the City of North Vancouver Heritage Inventory.

Shipyard Commons

The City has partnered with Shipyards Development Ltd, a subsidiary of Quay Property Management Corp. (QPM), to develop Shipyard Commons on a site formerly known as Lot 5. • 8,000 square foot water park
  • 20,000 square foot dynamic event space

Within the Shipyard Commons area is an adjoining commercial development which includes the new downtown campus for Capilano University, a boutique hotel and food / lifestyle focused retail. For a full listing: http://theshipyards.net/tenants/
