City Waterfront

With uses ranging from waterfront industry and marine activity to residential, retail and public spaces, the City's waterfront is a significant asset to the community. Strategically situated along nearly six kilometres of Burrard Inlet, with spectacular views of downtown Vancouver and the North Shore mountains, the waterfront is both a tremendous location and a gateway to the Greater Vancouver region.

City Council's vision for the Central Waterfront area is progressive, exciting and unique, and is on track for delivering a family, arts and entertainment focused destination to the community. The waterfront is a striking venue for countless community events, concerts and markets and is now home to the hugely popular Shipyards Night Market, Summer Sessions Concert Series, the City's annual Christmas Festival and other events year round.

Plans are underway to realize the full potential of this vibrant area, with City Council approving a number of initiatives in the Central Waterfront area - bounded by Waterfront Park on the West and St. George's on the east.
