The North Shore Recycling and Waste Centre (formerly North Shore Transfer Station) is located at 30 Riverside Drive, North Vancouver, and is owned by Metro Vancouver.
The Recycling Drop-off Area accepts a number of materials free of charge, while some materials are accepted for a fee at the paid materials area of the Waste Centre (mattresses, new and used gypsum/drywall, garbage, food scraps (10L or less) and yard trimmings.
Visit metrovancouver.org to find out which materials are accepted for a fee at the Waste Centre. Applicable disposal fees and limits may apply.

You can help reduce waste by recycling these items FREE of charge at the Recycling Drop-off Area.

You can now bring your Flexible Plastic Packaging to the Recycling Drop Off Area or other available drop-off location (such as Brooksbank Return-it depot and London Drugs).

North Shore Recycling & Waste Centre Location & Hours
Location: 30 Riverside Drive West, North Vancouver
Winter Hours (November 1 – February 28)
Weekdays: 5:30 am to 5 pm (Recycling drop-off opens at 8 am).
Peak hours weekdays 10 am to 2 pm.
Saturday: 8 am to 5 pm
Summer Hours (March 1 – October 31)
Weekdays: 5:30 am to 6 pm (Recycling drop-off opens at 7 am).
Peak hours weekdays 10 am to 2 pm.
Saturday: 8 am to 6 pm
Sundays and Statutory holidays: 9 am to 5 pm (closed December 25 and January 1)

Provincial Take-Back Programs
Many items such as tires, electronics and medications can also be recycled or disposed of safely through a provincial collection program. There are several convenient locations in the community to drop-off your materials.

Used Household Motor Oil
Need to recycle used household motor oil, oil filters or antifreeze? BC Used Oil Management Association has a mobile pickup pilot project for North Shore residents.
Call (866) 489-4483 to schedule a pick-up, and get these items recycled FREE of charge.
