Smoking Bylaw

Changes to the City's Smoking Bylaw

The City’s Smoking Bylaw has been revised to include a full smoking ban in all City parks, plazas and multi-use pathways. The terminology within the bylaw has also been updated to include e-cigarettes and vaping.

A reminder that smoking within 7.5 metres of a doorway, window or air intake is not permitted. Business owners may download and print two posters for display in business windows. Access them below, or drop by the City Hall Engineering counter for printed copies.

Please refer to the Smoking Regulation Bylaw for more information.

Health and public safety are essential to the City's social sustainability. To ensure the well-being of its citizens, the City works with individuals, community organizations and other municipalities to maximize opportunities for recreation and fitness, health care and medical services, and public safety and security.
