Studio in the City 15 Wraps Up

September 08, 2022

Studio in the City (SITC) has wrapped up another successful season in partnership with North Van Arts. This year's Studio in the City 15 was focused on fostering musicians. The eight SITC youth learned a variety of skills including improvisation and stage presence, participated in music workshops, and recorded at North Vancouver City Library's Recording Station. Listen to Ella's fantastic song, which she both wrote and performed, then recorded at the Library.

The talented SITC youth showcased their musical skills throughout the summer while busking in public spaces, and performed a final concert at Civic Plaza on August 26th. The youth raised over $800 while busking, which they donated to the North Shore Women’s Centre, as shown in the photo below. Congratulations to all of our talented participants - thanks for sharing your talents and making the City sound better this summer!

Studio in the City is an annual summer program that provides youth ages 15-19 with opportunities to apprentice in the arts throughout the City. Learn more about SITC at cnv.org/StudiointheCity.
