The City of North Vancouver is encouraging all eligible voters to get out and vote in the upcoming general local election on Saturday, October 15. Voters will elect one mayor, six councillors, and three school trustees for School District No. 44.
How and Where to Vote
Electors have the choice to vote by one of the following options:
- General Voting Day
Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 8am to 8pm at any one of the nine voting locations across the city:
- Advance Voting
All advance voting is at North Vancouver City Hall, Conference Room A.
- Wednesday, October 5: 8am-8pm
- Saturday, October 8: 10am-4pm
- Tuesday, October 11: 10am-6pm
- Wednesday, October 12: 8am-8pm
- Thursday, October 13: 12pm-6pm
- Mail Ballot
New this year, all eligible voters have the option to vote by mail. Mail ballot packages can be requested at cnv.org/vote. Packages with detailed voting instructions will be mailed around September 30. Voters are encouraged to request and return their package as soon as possible.
Packages requested on Wednesday, October 5 or later must be picked up in person at North Vancouver City Hall, 141 West 14 St. The last day to request a mail ballot application is Monday, October 10. Ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer by 8pm on October 15 in order to be counted.
Who Can Vote?
Eligible voters in the City of North Vancouver must meet all of the following qualifications:
- A Canadian citizen;
- Age 18 or older on the day of registration or General Voting Day;
- A resident of the City of North Vancouver on the day of registration;
- A resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
- Not disqualified by any enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law.

Local elected officials set policy and direction that shape the programs and services within your city. These include roads, sidewalks, water, sewer, waste collection, emergency services, schools, community centres, parks and trails, business services, and much more. All offices are held for a four-year term.

There are two candidates running for the Office of Mayor, 12 candidates running for the Office of Councillor, and four candidates running for the Office of School Trustee for School District No. 44.
