Election Candidate Nomination Packages Available

Candidate nomination packages are available for anyone interested in running for Mayor, Councillor or School Trustee in the City of North Vancouver 2022 local government election taking place Saturday, October 15.

Candidate nomination packages can be downloaded at cnv.org/vote or picked up in person at North Vancouver City Hall, 141 West 14th Street. The Candidate Nomination Period takes place between August 30 and September 9, 2022. 


Who Can Run for Office?

A person is qualified to be nominated, elected and hold office for local government if they meet all of the following criteria:

  • A resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
  • 18 years or older on General Voting Day, October 15, 2022;
  • A Canadian citizen; and
  • Not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office, or otherwise disqualified by law.

About the 2022 Local Government Election

On Saturday, October 15, City of North Vancouver voters will elect one mayor, six councillors, and three school trustees for School District No. 44.

Local elected officials set policy and direction that shape the programs and services within your city. These include roads, sidewalks, water, sewer, waste collection, emergency services, schools, community centres, parks and trails, business services, and much more.
