Summer at the Shipyards

May 5, 2022

A summer of fun kicks off at The Shipyards this month with a variety of family friendly events and the opening of the Splash Park for the May long weekend.

A popular year-round destination in Lower Lonsdale, The Shipyards offers opportunities for the community to gather, play and socialize alongside the beautiful waterfront views. Amid shops, restaurants and recreational activities, The Shipyards also offers seasonal programming and entertainment for residents and visitors to enjoy.

“We all love The Shipyards because there is something for everyone,” said Mayor Linda Buchanan. “The past two years has highlighted the importance of vibrant and animated outdoor public spaces for people. That’s why the City is gearing up for a busy summer season on our waterfront. Concerts, markets, food trucks, art installations, and more, will make The Shipyards and surrounding community the place to be this summer. We look forward to welcoming you!”

The Shipyards Splash Park Opening

The popular Splash Park will open on May 27th (changed from the May long weekend due to cool temperatures) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until September 5 at The Shipyard Commons. The Splash Park is a great destination for kids and families to cool off during the summer months. Visitors are welcome to pack a lunch and enjoy the water views from one of the picnic tables, or purchase food at any of the restaurants or shops located in The Shipyards. For more information, visit cnv.org/SplashPark.
