Claims & Causes of Loss

Citizens may occasionally encounter a situation in which they suffer damage to their property or an injury to their person. This section describes some of these incidents and what you may do to seek help and relief.

For some incidents it may be necessary to make an insurance claim. In the majority of circumstances these claims will be made to the personal insurer (ie. Property, Auto or Medical) of the claimant that suffered the loss. In other instances the claim may be made against the City and that process is described on the Claims webpage and the Causes of Loss webpage.
