Development Permits

Several areas within the City have been designated as Development Permit Areas. In these areas, a Development Permit must be applied for and obtained to proceed with new development. The proposal must conform to the site zoning, otherwise a Planning Application may be needed. 

Details of when and where Development Permits are required can be found in the Schedule D Map (area-specific) and Table 5 (category specific) of the Official Community Plan.

Development Permit Areas within the city include properties:

  • with an Accessory Coach House
  • located in close proximity to a stream or creek
  • located in the ‘Moodyville’ precinct
