The City of North Vancouver Social Planning Advisory Committee (SPAC) was established in 1991 with the purpose of advising City Council on broad social, cultural and ethnic concerns that affect residents of the City. The SPAC also makes recommendations to City Council regarding the planning and development of municipal strategies to meet community social needs.
What does this committee do?
Guided by the City’s Social Plan, this Committee:
- reviews applications for community grants
- makes recommendations to City Council on the disbursement of grant monies
- advises City staff and Council on community social needs, implications, policies etc.
How often does the committee meet? Once a month, currently meeting online.
Applications to serve on the SPAC are always welcome.
