This season, the City is transforming into a winter wonderland as the holiday’s kick off with an enchanting lineup of activities and events for all ages. From the Spirit of the Season Festival, ice skating to holiday markets, get ready for magical moments, festive cheer, and unforgettable fun!
Winter at The Shipyards
A popular year-round destination in Lower Lonsdale, The Shipyards offers opportunities for the community to gather, play, and socialize alongside the beautiful waterfront views.
The Skate Plaza will be open daily to the public from 12–8 p.m. with free admission starting Friday, November 29 until March 2025. Skate rentals will be available at $5 for children and $7 for adults, along with free helmet and skate aid rentals.
December 7: Taylor Swift Skate Plaza Dance Party 12 – 8 p.m.
December 31: New Years Eve public skate with DJ tunes 5 – 8 p.m.

December 14: Frozen Wonderland at Civic Plaza
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., join us as Civic Plaza turns into a Frozen Winter Wonderland! Delight in live music, sip on free hot chocolate, and make magical memories by snapping photos with Anna and Kristoff in their Frozen Winter Wonderland Hut.
December 15: Brewvember in December: Hockey, Hops, and Community
Join us from 12-5 p.m. at the 300 block of East Esplanade for a free, family-friendly community event featuring hockeyball courts, live music, a cozy beer garden, festive crafts, and fun activities with local partners.
City of North Vancouver Fire Department Toy Drive
Until December 16, NVCFD will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and gift cards (no perishable items, please) to support North Shore Family Services and brighten the holidays for local families in need. Drop-off location is 165 East 13th Street, North Vancouver. If you’re unable to provide toys or a gift card, consider donating a book to the new little library located outside of the Fire Hall.
