A Summer of Fun Kicks Off at The Shipyards

The Shipyards is the place to be this summer! There’s something for everyone to enjoy with many activities, markets and festivals at the City of North Vancouver’s iconic public waterfront space.

The Shipyards is ready for the season with an exciting event and programming schedule so plan ahead for your summer activities by checking out the featured events below and keeping an eye on The Shipyards calendar as new events are always added: cnv.org/TheShipyards.


Events and Activities All Season Long


Splash Park

The Splash Park in the Shipyard Commons is officially open on May 19 at noon! After opening day, the park will be open daily from 10am to 8pm until September 4 (weather dependent). The Splash Park is the perfect way for kids and families to cool off during the summer months. For more information visit cnv.org/SplashPark.

Sunset Cinema

Sunset Cinema returns to The Shipyards with a different movie every Wednesday starting at sunset (approximately 9pm) from August 2-23. Bring your chairs, blankets, your favourite snacks and cozy up to watch the current scheduled shows:

August 2: Jumanji (1995 version)

August 9: Mamma Mia 2 – Here We Go Again

August 16: Encanto (Sponsored by SeaSpan)

August 23: E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial


Long Summer Nights

Sponsored by Vancouver’s North Shore Tourism, “Long Summer Nights” offers Shipyards visitors an exclusive experience with a variety of live music, food trucks, pop-up culinary and cocktail events on Saturdays starting in July until August. Music night themes include: Viva North Vancouver (July 22), Jazz Night (July 29), Young at Heart (August 5), Country Thunder (August 12), ‘90s Nostalgia (August 19) and Global Emersions (August 26).


Recurring Program Schedule

Registration will be required for North Vancouver Recreation and Culture’s Yoga and Let’s Dance programming, Silver Harbor Centre’s Chair Yoga for Seniors, and the North Shore Neighbourhood House Women’s Discussion Group. Check our Community Events Calendar for more information.

How to Get to The Shipyards

Visitors are encouraged to walk, take transit and bike to The Shipyards. The area is pedestrian-friendly with connecting trails and safe spaces to walk with friends and family. Bike Valet services will be provided for Shipyards Night Market and Long Summer Nights. Access is easy by transit, with the SeaBus arriving right at The Shipyards and bus connections nearby. Pay parking lots are available within a few blocks.
