Important Updates

To protect everyone in the community, including our Depot Staff and support the continued functioning of our facilities, we ask that you consider delaying your visit unless absolutely necessary. Store any dry recyclables and other items at home temporarily. If you must visit, please to keep a minimum 2 metre distance from staff. If you are in self isolation, feeling unwell or are caring for someone who is sick please do not visit the Depot.

Check for updates at North Shore Transfer Station or call 604-681-5600 before you drop off. Hours, methods of payment, materials and regulations are subject to change.

The North Shore Transfer Station is located at 30 Riverside Drive, North Vancouver, and is owned by Metro Vancouver.

The Recycling Drop-off Area accepts a number of materials free of charge, while some materials are accepted for a fee at the paid materials area of the Transfer Station (mattresses, new and used gypsum/drywall, garbage, food scraps (10L or less) and yard trimmings.

Acceptable Materials

You can help reduce waste by recycling these items FREE of charge at the Recycling Drop-off Area.

Transfer Station Fees

Visit metrovancouver.org/NorthShoreTransferStation to find out which materials are accepted for a fee at the Transfer Station. Applicable disposal fees and limits may apply.

Hours

  • April 1 to September 30:
    • Weekdays: 5:30am to 5pm (recycling drop-off area opens at 8am)
    • Saturday: 8am to 5pm
  • October 1 to March 31:
    • Weekdays: 5:30am to 5pm (recycling drop-off area opens opens at 8am)
    • Saturday: 8am to 5pm
  • Sunday & Statutory holidays: 9am to 5pm

Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day

 

Provincial Take-Back Programs

Many items such as tires, electronics and medications can also be recycled or disposed of safely through a provincial collection program. There are several convenient locations in the community to drop-off your materials. Find a drop-off location using the What Goes Where tool or call the Recycling Hotline at 604 RECYCLE or visit rcbc.ca.
