Cemetery Filming

The City of North Vancouver recognizes the benefits derived to the community by having a thriving film industry. These guidelines have been structured to allow filming within the old section of North Vancouver Cemetery (NVC) while still recognizing the desire of the citizens to enjoy the peace and quiet of the NVC while visiting their loved ones.

All filming must be within the Heritage section of Cemetery (sections 1-62). See detailed Cemetery Map. All filming is subject to the terms and conditions of the Cemetery Filming Guidelines and the City’s existing Film Procedures.

Please note: normal working hours for cemetery caretakers are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The City requires that a member of the cemetery staff is on set out of hours.

COVID-19: Cemetery caretakers will be wearing masks when they are in the vicinity of the crew. All communication between the production and the cemetery staff is to be via cell phones.

If you wish to have a grave dug, please discuss this with the Film Liaison and/or Cemetery Supervisor. Digging a grave can only be done in limited areas, and will involve City equipment and staff such as a Digger/Operator and a Truck/Driver (to remove the fill) plus cemetery staff to fill in the grave after the shoot. Should you require more "photogenic" soil this can be arranged.

See Complete Cemetery Guidelines.
