The City of North Vancouver, like other government offices across the country, will be recognizing Monday, September 19 as a public holiday following the Prime Minister’s declaration of a National Day of Mourning in recognition of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Province observing the holiday.
As a result of the holiday, City Hall will be closed to the public and the September 19 Council meeting has been cancelled. The next Council meeting will be held on September 26.
City waste collection services will continue to run as scheduled. Construction will be permitted in the City and regular weekday hours apply. However, we encourage sites to attempt to reduce noise-related construction impacts on the surrounding community. As City Hall will be closed, Gateway, permit processing, and inspections will not be available that day.
Outdoor public spaces, including The Shipyards, are available for the public to use. Hours of operation for the City Library and North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission are available at nvcl.ca and nvrc.ca respectively.
Flags at City Hall and civic buildings remain at half mast until sunset on September 19, the day of the memorial service of Her Majesty the Queen.
