Safety Reminders
Halloween should be fun, not scary! The City is encouraging residents and visitors to follow these tips and tricks to make sure the upcoming Halloween holiday is safe for everyone. Check them out below and visit
cnv.org/Halloween to find important safety tips to help keep this holiday spooktacular.
No Fireworks
The City and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) bans the sale, purchase, possession, or discharge of fireworks of any kind unless it's a public display by someone who has been certified as a Fireworks Supervisor. Anyone in violation of the ban could face a fine up to $500, or up to $10,000 if convicted. Visit
cnv.org/FireSafety and
squamish.net/Fireworks to find the regulation bylaws.
Road Safety
Halloween is one of the busiest nights of the year, so let’s work together to keep our roads safe. Slow down, leave your phone alone and be alert in residential neighborhoods as pedestrians may move in unpredictable ways. Consider avoiding driving during 5:30-9pm as this is a popular time for trick or treating.
Pedestrian Safety
Parents should review with their children on how to safely cross streets and how to be visible to drivers in the dark or when there is wet weather.
