The project logo is inspired by one of the most striking features of the new centre, the wood coffered ceiling in the main lobby. The ceiling mirrors the views of the iconic North Shore forest to welcome visitors with a sense of openness and a feeling of the forest continued inside.

Silver Harbour Seniors' Activity Centre

As part of the broader area’s revitalization, a brand-new facility for the Silver Harbour Seniors’ Activity Centre will also be opening on July 25. Developed by the City in partnership with Silver Harbour, the new centre will replace the current 1973 building with a more accessible and contemporary space for local adults aged 55 and over.

Silver Harbour has long been a vibrant hub, offering more than 70 programs and services, from woodworking and pottery to choir and fitness classes. The new facility will expand on this legacy with larger, more flexible program areas, a fully-equipped kitchen for meal services, and improved amenities including wider hallways, larger elevators and more accessible washrooms.

Strategically located next to the new Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre, the facility will strengthen inter-generational connections.
