In late 2013, the City collaborated with TravelSmart to encourage residents to be TravelSmart and sustainable on the North Shore. TravelSmart encourages everyone to get out of their cars once a week to enjoy their community by walking, cycling and taking transit. Being TravelSmart is about everyone doing their part to build a healthier, more livable community for us all. Since 2013, hundreds of City residents have taken the TravelSmart pledge and have taken steps towards building a more sustainable future in the City.

TravelSmart is a great online resource, containing information, ideas and tools which can be tailored to specific geographic areas to aid with personal travel planning. You’ll find information on how easy it is to explore your neighbourhood by walking, cycling or taking public transit. Just go to and select North Vancouver from the drop down menu for more information.

Commuting on your bike is Travel Smart.
