Join Us at the City’s Earth Day Event on April 18

The community is invited to celebrate Earth Day at the City’s official event on Saturday, April 18 at Moodyville Park, located at Moody Avenue and East 2nd Street. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can enjoy free, family-friendly fun to benefit the local environment. 

Event highlights include: 

  • A volunteer invasive plant removal led by the City Park Stewards (registration is required) 
  • Safety practices from the Community Awareness Public Safety Volunteers
  • Bubbles and chalk hosted by Ponnie Matin Studios
  • Sign painting, ivy weaving and other arts and crafts 
  • A free Bike Repair Cafe presented by Obsession Bikes
  • Interactive community booths featuring local organizations and City partners including the BC Native Bee Society, North Shore Black Bear Society, North Vancouver City Fire Department, North Vancouver City Library, Pollinator Gardeners including Vancouver Master Gardeners, Pacific Science Enterprise Center (part of Fisheries and Oceans Canada), North Shore Streamkeepers and HUB Cycling. 

The Earth Day celebration is rain or shine, so come prepared and dress for the weather! 

Register for the Invasive Plant Pull 

The City Park Stewards are leading a volunteer invasive plant removal during the Earth Day event. Residents interested in volunteering are asked to register ahead of time at cnv.org/EarthDay

The City Park Stewards is a volunteer program aimed at improving the ecological health of our parks and natural areas. Throughout the year, volunteers can take part in important restoration activities like planting thousands of native plants and removing invasive species. Everyone is welcome, no experience is required and equipment and gloves are supplied.
