Poppies in the Parklet
The City is once again bringing a special tribute to Central Lonsdale through Poppies in the Parklet, a community initiative that honours the service and sacrifices of Canada's veterans.
In partnership with Play CNV, students from Alcuin College have created handmade poppies that will be displayed in parklets along the Remembrance Day parade route (Lonsdale Avenue at 14th and 15th Street), from November 9–12, 2026.
The vibrant red poppies serve as a symbol of Remembrance, giving everyone an opportunity to pause, reflect and pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our country.
View Remembrance Day Street Banners Along Lonsdale Avenue
Commemorative Remembrance Day street banners are now on display along Lonsdale Avenue, stretching from 15th Street to Victoria Park. The banners honour local veterans and will remain up throughout November, offering a visible tribute for attendees of the upcoming Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony.
The initiative is presented in partnership between the City of North Vancouver and the North Shore Veterans Council Canada.
