Celebrate the Season

As 2017 draws to an end, we extend a warm invitation to join us as the City sparkles with holiday cheer!

Throughout the month of December, the City will celebrate the holiday season with numerous events for the entire family to enjoy. From the Christmas Festival at The Shipyards to the North Vancouver City Firefighter's Christmas Tree Chip-up, we invite you to celebrate the season with us. Bundle up, get outside and enjoy the numerous seasonal light displays throughout the City this holiday season.

In the event of heavy snowfall, the City encourages businesses and residents to work together to manage snow and ice in the city. Community Events

Christmas comes to City Hall! Join us for a free movie night. Hot chocolate, popcorn, live music and crafts and holiday favourite: ELF.

Christmas Carollers

December 1, 8, 15, 22 | 4:30 - 5:30PM
Civic Plaza, North Vancouver

A Christmas caroling quartet comes to Civic Plaza. 'The Christmas Revelers' & 'The Caminando Carolers' (Dec 8), dressed in Victorian costumes, will be performing your seasonal favourites in beautiful four-part harmony.

Fire Department Toy Drive

Now until December 24, 2017
City Fire Hall 165 East 13th Street, North Vancouver

Our City Fire Department is collecting unwrapped toys for the holiday season. Help bring holiday cheer to children, tweens, teens and families in need by dropping off toys at the City Fire Hall until December 24. All donations are given to Family Services of the North Shore.


29th Annual Park & Tilford Holiday Hi-Light Festival

December 1-31st, 2017 | 5 - 9PM daily
Park & Tilford Gardens, 333 Brooksbank Avenue, North Vancouver

Park & Tilford is set to light up the season with the 29th annual Holiday Hi-Light Festival at Park & Tilford Gardens. This annual event features a majestic festival of lights with over 150,000 on display over 3 acres. The lights turn on at 5pm daily between December 1 and 31st. Entry is by donation with proceeds going to support the North Vancouver firefighters, and their various appointed charities.

Opening Night: December 1st | 7-10pm
Free hot chocolate, live entertainment and a Light Up countdown to be enjoyed by all! Mayor Darrell Mussatto will be in attendance to help kick off the event.

Family Nights December 8, 15 & 22
Family Friday Nights feature a variety of live entertainment and fun, plus a visit from Santa Claus himself.

Pool & Play Pass

Keep the kids active this winter break. The Pool & Play Pass is back, providing unlimited public swim, family/public skating and open gym for 3 to 18 year olds all for $5.00. Passes on sale starting December 1st.

North Vancouver City Firefighters Christmas Tree Chip-Up

January 6, 2018 | 8:30AM - 4:30PM
Rona Parking Lot at Park & Tilford

Wondering what to do with your Christmas tree after the holidays? Recycle it! Drop by with your tree and enjoy a free hot dog, coffee or hot chocolate. All proceeds go to the North Vancouver City Firefighters’ Foundation.




City Seasonal Displays

A number of bright and beautiful light displays are located throughout the City. Decorative lights adorn the trees in Civic Plaza and City Hall is decked out in holiday style. Lonsdale Avenue is glowing from Esplanade to 23rd Street, bringing festive cheer to the City. The Shipyards also shines with twinkling lights.
