The Shipyards - Shipbuilders' Square

Shipbuilders' Square

Shipbuilders' Square commemorates the thousands of men and women who worked in the shipyard from 1906 -1992. Over 450 ships were launched from this site during the many years of operation including merchant marine vessels and Victory ships. The shipyard has recently been transformed into a public space and event venue. Parking is available on Wallace Mews and in the Pinnacle Hotel.

Shipbuilders' Square houses a community stage concerts, plays, farmers markets, buskers and general festivals which take place regularly throughout the summer season.
