HST Savings Now in Effect
The Provincial Government's Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) took effect on July 1, 2010. As an LEC customer, you can benefit from new savings on your energy costs. Current and future LEC customers may realize savings of approximately 4-5%. Click here to learn more about the impact of the HST on LEC charges.
Commodity Charge Update
Increase to: $0.04370 per kilowatt hour
Effective: April 1, 2010
By bylaw, LEC's regulator, the City of North Vancouver, authorizes LEC management to make adjustments to the Commodity Charge to reflect market pricing fluctuations.
The Commodity Charge is adjusted to follow the purchase price of 1,000 GJ/month of gas under Terasen Gas' Rate Schedule 3. Terasen Gas recently adjusted its pricing schedule. Effective April 1, 2010, LEC's Commodity Charge increases from $0.04081 per kilowatt hour to $0.04370 per kilowatt hour. The increase matches a 7.07% increase in the cost of purchasing the equivalent of the above-mentioned quantity of gas.
Click on the link below to access a table, which calculates how the Terasen Gas adjustment affects LEC's Commodity Charge. LEC's Meter Charge and Capacity Charge are not affected by the adjustment.
Meter Charge Update
Decrease to: $150.00 per month
Effective: January 1, 2010
LEC's regulator, the City of North Vancouver, has approved Bylaw No. 8059 which decreases LEC's Meter Charge as of January 1, 2010. Effective this date, the Meter Charge decreases from $299.34 per month to $150.00 per month.
