Waterfront Project

Strategically situated along nearly five kilometres of Burrard Inlet, the City of North Vancouver Waterfront is both a tremendous location and a gateway to the Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver region. The City's Waterfront Project aims to bring together the past, present and future into one spectacular destination.

Waterfront Highlights

The Waterfront features a stunning 700-foot Pier that offers both a public promenade and adjoining moorage opportunities for leisure boats and ocean-bound visiting ships. Lonsdale Quay, a visitor and resident favourite, is a bustling hub of year-round activity. Nearby Waterfront Park is one of the most popular vantage points for taking in the Vancouver skyline and North Shore mountains. Steps away is King's Mill Walk, a 1.5-kilometre-long oceanfront experience.

A strong economy can be a vehicle for change. In light of global challenges such as climate change, sustainable economic practices can be the catalyst for a greener way of thinking and living. Learn how your business can support the City's long-term sustainability goals.

The backdrop for the Waterfront is Lower Lonsdale, one of the most dynamic urban neighbourhoods in BC. Lower Lonsdale residents and visitors enjoy easy access to businesses and services, including the 35,000-square-feet John Braithwaite Community Centre and multiple award-winning Lonsdale Energy Corporation.

Another defining aspect of the City's identity and development is the Burrard Shipyard, which has received National Heritage Designation and is recognized as a Primary Heritage Site in the City of North Vancouver Heritage Inventory.
