Street Banner Design Contest

In anticipation of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017, K-12 students in North Vancouver were invited to create an original banner design reflecting the theme  "What Makes Canada Great". The contest took place in early spring and over 400 entries were received.

A panel of judges, made up of representatives from the North Vancouver Public Art Advisory Board, the City of North Vancouver, and a local artistic professional chose four winning designs. The banners will be professionally produced and installed along Lonsdale Avenue and Esplanade from late May 2016 through 2017. The successful student artists will receive a banner set for their own use.
