Section 7 - Forbes to Chesterfield / CN Rail / Waterfront Park |
The Waterfront Park portion of the Spirit Trail, referred to as Section 7, will connect the already completed Squamish Nation Waterfront Greenway through Waterfront Park to the SeaBus Terminal. The Spirit Trail route through Waterfront Park will have separated pedestrian and wheeled-user routes and will be completed in two phases.
The first phase, which the City has begun detailed design for, will focus on the wheeled-user priority route through Waterfront Park, following the rail tracks, from Forbes Avenue to Chesterfield Place, with connections made to the SeaBus down Chesterfield Place and Chadwick Court. The future east-west wheeled priority route will continue on along Carrie Cates Court.

The second phase of this project will address the pedestrian priority route, which will follow along the water's edge through Waterfront Park. Upgrades to the existing trail will be part of the Waterfront Park Master Plan process which is anticipated for 2011/2012.
