2010 Winter Games
Wasn't that a party!!
The City of North Vancouver welcomed the Olympic Flame as it arrived at Lonsdale Quay Market at 8:42am on February 10, 2010. The historic moment and Canadian event drew thousands and created a special memory for all in attendance.
The large community celebration included entertainment and activities while the excited crowd of thousands eagerly awaited the arrival of the Olympic Flame and torch bearer Victor Kraatz, who met fellow torch bearer, Yuming Ding as the flame was passed between torches. Mayor Darrell Mussatto, Members of Council, Andrew Saxton - MP North Vancouver and Naomi Yamamoto - MLA North Vancouver-Lonsdale, officially welcomed the Olympic Flame, along with thousands of cheering participants waving flags and wearing red.
As an Official 2010 Community Contributor, the City of North Vancouver provided support for the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games and showcased our beautiful, sustainable, award winning municipality to the world.
