Home Renovation Rebates Available Now!

The Home Energy Rebate Offer offers homeowners the opportunity to apply for home energy retrofit incentives. 

The Home Renovation Rebates are provided in partnership by BC Hydro and FortisBC and expands on the rebates that were available to residential customers through the LiveSmart BC program.

Homeowners can access up to $6,000 in rebates for a wide variety of energy-efficiency upgrades that could reduce energy bills by up to 30 per cent and improve the comfort of your home. Energy-efficiency upgrades include insulation, draftproofing, ventilation, space and water heating systems and much more.

Insulation:

Up to $600
 - Walls Up to $1,200
 - Basement or Crawl Space Up to $1,000
 - Other Up to $450
Ductless Heat Pump (for electrically heated homes) $800/system
EnerChoice Fireplace $300
High Efficiency Water Heater Up to $1,000
ENERGY STAR Bathroom Fans $25/fan
Draftproofing
  (EnerGuide home evaluation required)
Up to $500
BONUS OFFER
Requires a pre and post EnerGuide home evaluation and installation of 3 eligible upgrades such as:
  • ENERGY STAR Windows
  • High Efficiency Heating System
  • Insulation
  • Draftproofing Water Heating System

FOUR EASY STEPS TO ACCESS THE HOME ENERGY REBATE OFFER

STEP 1: LEARN MORE STEP 2: CALL A CERTIFIED ENERGY ADVISOR
  • Hire an energy advisor to complete an EnerGuidehome evaluation (Required for draftproofing andBonus Offer; recommended for other upgrades).
  • A thorough in-home assessment of heating, hotwater, windows, doors, ventilation, insulation andoverall air leakage (takes approximately 1.5 to3 hours)
  • A customized report showing your home’sEnerGuide energy efficiency rating and prioritized recommended upgrades and improvements

All advisors are trained and certified by Service Organizations licensed with Natural Resources Canada. A list of Service Organizations can be found on the Natural Resources Canada website.

STEP 3: MAKE IMPROVEMENTS
  • Install Eligible Upgrades and keep your receipts.
STEP 4: SUBMIT APPLICATION FORM
  • Download the application form from your utilitywebsite and submit it along with all supportingdocuments by April 30, 2016.
