Privacy Policy

Any personal information you provide to us is collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

The City of North Vancouver does not automatically gather any personal information such as your name, phone number, street, or e-mail address. This information is only obtained if you supply it voluntarily, usually through contacting us via e-mail, an application, or online forms. Any personal information we ask you to provide is collected under the authority of the FIPPA. The information will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected or to obtain feedback regarding the delivery of this service.

When the information is transmitted over the Internet, it is encrypted to protect against unauthorized access. The information will be stored in a secure location and will not be disclosed to third parties without your permission, except as required by law.

The City of North Vancouver’s website contains links to external websites and services. The City is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content on external websites and services. Please check with those sites to determine their privacy policy.


Google Analytics

Our site uses Google Analytics to gather website usage statistics in order for us to make improvements to our website. This is done by placing a small file, called a "cookie," into your web browser's memory. The cookie collects the following information:

  • Your IP address
  • Type of web browser and operating system you use
  • Date and time you visited the site
  • Pages you visited
  • Order you visited the pages
  • Amount of time you spent on each page
  • Page you entered the site on
  • Last page you looked at before you left

You may refuse to have cookies stored on your device by appropriately configuring your browser or by using a privacy plug-in. You can also prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
