About
Centrally located along Lonsdale Avenue, this busy park provides a green oasis in the middle of the City. Victoria Park provides an excellent place to enjoy the seasons, take a stroll, have a picnic or relax in the sun. Victoria Park forms a key component of the City's Green Necklace project, an urban greenway that will link parks, public spaces, and natural habitats and provide safe, alternative transportation options and recreation opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

History
Victoria Park was created as the first and central component of a system of boulevards and parks proposed and promoted as North Vancouver's "Necklace of Parks". Grand Boulevard and Mahon Park are the other remaining elements of this scheme. In 1905 area residents began clearing the forest for Victoria Park. By 1910 the park had been laid out with formal pathways sweeping through the park, lined with European species of trees. Today you can find over 100 of these original trees remain and in the eastern half of the park you will find the recently restored Cenotaph and Commemorative Flame.
