Swimming Pool Safety

A backyard swimming pool can be an enjoyable addition to the backyard. However, both above-ground and in-ground residential swimming pools bring with them a need to be aware of the hazards present with any open body of water of sufficient size. The City of North Vancouver has regulations in place to require an enclosure or fence around all swimming pools larger than a certain size, as well as guide where swimming pools can be erected. The Residential Swimming Pool handout explains these requirements and provides guidelines for good pool maintenance practices.
