Cemetery Filming

The City of North Vancouver recognizes the benefits derived to the community by having a thriving film industry. These guidelines have been structured to allow filming within the old section of North Vancouver Cemetery (NVC) while still recognizing the desire of the citizens to enjoy the peace and quiet of the NVC while visiting their loved ones.

All filming within the old section of NVC will be done under permit and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the filming policy together with these guidelines, and the rules and regulations included.

Please note: normal working hours for cemetery staff are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The cemetery is open from 8am to 4pm (September to March) and open 8am to 8pm (April to August). It is City policy to have a member of the cemetery staff to be on set out of hours.

If you wish to have a grave dug, please discuss this with the Film Liaison and/or Cemetery Supervisor. Digging a grave can only be done in limited areas, and will involve City equipment and staff such as a Digger/Operator and a Truck/Driver (to remove the fill) plus cemetery staff to fill in the grave after the shoot. Should you require more "photogenic" soil this can be arranged.
