In Office

1983 to 1985, 1987 to 1993, 2002 to 2005, 2008 to present

City Council will be dealing with very important issues in this 4 year term. The Official Community Plan needs to be finalized; a rebuild of the Harry Jerome Recreation Centre must be worked out & the sale of so called surplus school lands at Ridgeway Annex, Cloverley & the Lucas Centre must be addressed. Development pressure continues to be high and our community's growth is nearing 3% on an annual basis. We need to take stock & be mindful of the strain on our resources that the current development frenzy has created.

We need to be respectful of the financial pressures on our taxpayers. Downloading of responsibilities from the Provincial & Federal Governments continues and without corresponding financial resources. This must be addressed by Municipal Government across the Province & our Country. Municipalities need a new deal from the senior governments.

City Council needs to build consensus in Our Community by listening and being open. Fostering partnerships and bridges, within and without, will ensure this consensus. We can then move forward confidently and inclusively as a Community.
