Energy Efficient Buildings Initiative

The City continues to lead the way in progressive sustainability initiatives that contribute to the reduction of community-wide energy consumption. Buildings in the City of North Vancouver contribute to approximately 50% of greenhouse gas emissions and 70% of energy consumption of the City and are thus an appropriate area for targeted actions.

The Energy Efficient Buildings Initiative was created as a comprehensive effort to encourage more energy efficient buildings throughout the City of North Vancouver and includes policies and programs for both new and existing buildings. This Initiative is guided by the targets adopted through the City’s Official Community Plan and Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP).
