Dog Licences & Renewals

If you own a dog in the City of North Vancouver, you need to get it a licence. Not only is it a City bylaw, it's protection for your pet. Those dogs who get lost and are not wearing a licence have a much more difficult time being reunited with their owners.

How to Get a Licence

In Person
If you wish to licence a new dog or renew your existing licence, you may do so in person at City Hall, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm. For additional information on dog licences, contact the tax office at 604-983-7316.

Renew Online
If you purchased a 2017 Dog Licence from the City of North Vancouver, a renewal notice will be mailed to you during the first week of December. It is fast, secure and convenient to renew your dog licence online. You will need your account number from your renewal notice. Once your payment has been processed a dog licence tag will be mailed out to you.

If you did not purchase a 2017 Dog Licence, or for some other reason do not receive a statement by mid-December, please contact:

Finance Department, City Hall
141 West 14th Street, North Vancouver
Phone: 604-983-7316

Please Note: All dog licences expire December 31st of each year. A fine of $60.00 will be levied to dog owners found without a valid Dog Licence in the City of North Vancouver. Residents with an Assistance Dog will be issued a licence free of charge.
